Converting to tubeless MTB tires

weight for 2 pcs tubeless valve


The weight for each tube for Maxxis Welter Weight26x1.90/2.125 Presta valve is 161g. Front and back is 161g x 2pcs is 322g. Rim tape 2 pcs is 20g so the total weight for tube setup is 342g.

Tubeless conversion
Notubes sealant per wheel is 2-3oz = 56.69905g x 2 wheels = est 113g

Notubes yellow tape and notubes valve are
front and rear weight 22g.



113g + 22g = 135g

diff between tube and tubeless tires 342g - 135g = 207g

my XX FD weight

I'm going Insane. I will be using SRAM RED FD on my MTB! My current XX FD top pull, low clamp weight is 120g. SRAM RED FD low pull is 70g, SRAM website claimed 58g. The Red FD I got is with me now is a limited edition. RM290 only and I will need to get a light weight carbon FD clamp. Still looking around for it else have to order from CRC.

In order to use a low pull FD clamp on a top pull FD bike, you need to get a Umlenker from Speen

2XU Compression Cycling Short

Things that you will not know till you buy a 2XU compression cycling pants.

Made in Italy Chamois. The main contact area of the pelvic region is supported by 8mm, high density foam to offer maximum support while mid level impact cushioning protects the frontal region with less bulk for comfort. With the added benefit of extreme moisture management from Italian fabrics and four way stretch aided by LYCRA® fibre, 2XU sets the benchmark in chamois technology.

inside out - the shapes like a bike saddle, overall very good padding, just right for each section

5 hours after removing the compression short - the red mark still there!


According to the washing instructions:

1) you must wash with cold water

2) dry in sun shade – do not try under the sun.

3) do not use fabric softener

4) Rinse immediately in cool water after each use.

All the above mentioned is to protect and extend the lifespan of the fabrics.


Verdict from me about 2XU Cycling Pants

1) Better to get a 2XU bib instead of cycling short especially to those who has tummy. If I have a choice again I will get a BIB.

2) Tested this pants on Kemensah trail for 20km - I do not see any diff.

Thats all. Nothing seriously impressive for a RM400 cycling pants. I bought this pant to replaced on old one. Brands like F2P already cost RM200 so I ended to try this compression shorts.

Anyway its still too early to conclude about 2XU compression cycling short now. Will come back to add more review. Watch out.
