the switches - it has a light to indicate battery.

Rode uses 1 pc 9V battery

Audio Technica Pro 24cm - only has "on/off" button

Rode VideoMic Pro mounted on a DSLR. The windscreen is fixed on the mic. It has a "off/ mic ON (FLAT)" and "mic ON (HPF) - high pass filter" button, and three level of level control switch " -10, 0 and +20dB"

the content inside the box - the mic, extras rubber, stickers, warranty card and instruction manual

The Audio Technica uses 1pc LR44 battery. Notice the icon of "X-Y Stereo polar pick-up pattern"

comparison - video total duration is 4 mins and each minutes has different setting and diff mic.

My Pros on Audio Technica Pro 24cm
  • very solid build compare to Rode - also with thicker mic cable
  • price RM466 - price from www.shashinki.com
  • heavy 111g compare to Rode VideoMic Pro - but doesn't matter for the solid build
  • comes with soft casing

My Cons on Audio Technica Pro 24cm

  • Made in Taiwan!
  • no High Pass Filter option
  • no volume control setting
  • uses LR44 - harder to find of need one but easy to keep as spare - but compact and light

My Pros on Rode VideoMic Pro mic
  • uses 9V battery - last longer compare to AA battery and up to 70 hours
  • 3 level volume control
  • made in Australia - design and manufacture
  • High -pass filter at two level.
  • 10 years warranty - you need to register your product online.
  • boompole mount - able to use with boompole with 3/8" thread
  • light weight 86g

My Cons on Rode VideoMic Pro mic

  • uses 9V battery - a bit more expensive than AA battery
  • tiny mic cable
  • very cheap plastic look and feels
  • price RM1000 plus - price from www.shashinki.com
  • unable to remove windshield - integrated shock mount and windshield.
